Ray's Moon depicts the homeplace of famous mountain storyteller, Ray Hicks. This is the second reproduction that Bob has done of Ray and Rosa Hick's home in the North Carolina mountains...the first being Ray's Place. Originally, Bob thought about naming the painting Ray's Moonshine, but since Ray wasn't into that sort of thing, he decided against it.
